Consuming more gooseberry can make you sick

In this pandemic, most of the people are consuming amla for boost the immunity because amla is rich in medicinal properties and it is beneficial for health, but for some people it can prove to be dangerous.

Who does not know about the medicinal properties of amla. Amla is considered a medicine for hundred diseases. Amla is rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin AB, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, Carbohydrate, Fiber, Diuretic acid Which helps in controlling your diabetes as well as boosting immunity and keeping the heart healthy. But consuming amla in excess quantity can also prove to be dangerous at times.


You can consume amla in many ways. You can eat amla raw as well as in the form of juice, powder, murabba, candy etc. Amla should be consumed in only one quantity. In today's time, people consume amla in different ways. But sometimes eating it by mixing it with other things can be harmful.

Harmful effects of eating amla

Acidity problem

People who have acidity problem or who have pitta dosha problem, they should consume amla with a little care, because amla is acidic. Due to which it can make gas in the stomach.

Bleeding disorder

Gooseberry might increase the risk of bleeding in some people. If you have a bleeding disorder, then use it with some caution.

Diabetes

Amla generally helps in reducing blood sugar levels. If you are taking medicines, then reduce the intake a little.

Liver damage

Taking gooseberry along with ginger, Tinospora cordifolia and frankincense can result in impaired liver function. Therefore, if you have liver disease, then do not consume it like this.

Bad effect on the digestive system

Excessive consumption of amla increases the amount of SGPT (serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase) in your liver. Because of this, your digestive system has a bad effect.

Surgery

Consuming amla during and after surgery may increase the risk of bleeding. Therefore, stop consuming amla at least 2 weeks before the surgery.

Constipation

It is a natural remedy for constipation. Amla is rich in fiber. However, if you consume amla in excess, it can harden the stool. The situation gets worse if you reduce your water intake. Therefore, to prevent constipation, take the fruit in the form of juice or dried amla powder with sufficient amount of water.

Allergies

Some people may be allergic to amla. A person who is allergic to this fruit may have to face stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, redness, diarrhea, abdominal pain and swelling around your mouth, breathing difficulties, itching and redness on the face, headache and dizziness.

Cold problem

Amla reduces body temperature to a great extent. Due to which the symptoms of cold may worsen as it is a natural coolant. If you are already suffering from cold or any other related condition then it will make the situation worse.

Use Amla as Triphala. To avoid any side effects of amla powder, drink it mixed with a spoonful of honey in warm water.
